Brief Introduction
The Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Jammu is one of the premier research institutes functioning under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Established with a vision to preserve, promote, and advance the science of Ayurveda, RARI Jammu plays a pivotal role in Ayurvedic research, clinical studies, medicinal plant conservation, and public health outreach in the Jammu region and adjoining areas.
Situated in the culturally rich and geographically diverse Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, the institute serves as a vital center for the systematic exploration and validation of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge in light of modern scientific parameters.
Mandate and Objectives
To undertake, coordinate, and promote research in Ayurveda with a focus on regional health problems.
To conduct clinical trials and drug standardization studies for the development of safe and effective Ayurvedic formulations.
To document and validate traditional knowledge systems, folk remedies, and local health practices.
To facilitate capacity-building programs and skill development for students, researchers, and practitioners of Ayurveda.
To promote the cultivation, conservation, and sustainable use of medicinal plants native to the Himalayan and sub-Himalayan regions.
